90 Day Fiance spoilers indicate that Brandon Gibbs shocked his parents, Betty and Ron Gibbs, when he brought home his girlfriend last season, a young Russian Krasnodar girl named Julia Trubkina who was a go-go dancer.
Of course Betty Gibbs clung to every last pearl she had, but since Brandon Gibbs was 27, there wasn’t much she could do except be a thorn in their proverbial sides, and boy was she! The fandom watched as Betty attempted to dictate everything in her son’s life regarding his new boyfriend. However, despite her best efforts, Brandon and Julia Trubkina stayed together and eventually got married.
90 Day Fiance: Julia Trubkina Reveals She Wants To Be On Dancing with the Stars.
Now she wants to channel some of the star power she earned from her stint on 90 day into a possible stint on DWTS! Since go-go dancing isn’t really a thing here in the states.
Last season on Happily Ever After she auditioned as a fitness instructor at a local gym, but didn’t get the job. She wanted to eventually become a wedding planner, but it turns out she doesn’t have quite the connections to start such a business venture. He also doesn’t have the personality for it, he seems to actively dislike other women, or maybe that’s just everyone who knows Brandon. So doing a competition show actually seems like a good idea.
In Dancing with the Stars, Julia Trubkina’s nasty attitude would just be part of the competition. You wouldn’t be expected to like someone you’re actively competing with, so her sniping at other women would just be taken as fierce competition.
Although her skill level may be questioned simply because Julia Trubkina is a self-taught dancer and although she claims to be proficient in a number of dance styles, from break dancing to line dancing (ahem), she has never trained professionally and the ballroom is another matter entirely. That said, if she wanted to, she could probably get up to speed pretty quickly. She recently left a comment on Alan Bersten’s Instagram page asking about the casting process, but so far she hasn’t received a reply.
So far, it’s a very well kept secret how someone is selected for Dancing with the Stars, but so far none of the 90 day parents have gotten in and it may have something to do with those 90 day contracts, not quite sure of the legal logistics of it, but it sounds plausible.
